Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strengthening the Group’s governance, risk and compliance framework, ensuring that risks within the organisation are appropriately identified, assessed and managed within defined risk appetite and assuring that controls are operating effectively.
  • Support the data management programme in ensuring proper data governance and promoting staff awareness.
  • Support Group and internal stakeholders in identifying and detecting potential threats to financial sustainability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and brand reputation
  • Lead/support the implementation of risk initiatives, activities, thematic reviews, deep dives, tools, etc. to anticipate and minimise threats to the Group
  • Facilitate and support internal stakeholders in the development, conduct and validation of risk management activities including risk self-assessments, risk metrics and associated response/mitigations
  • Provide effective challenge on risk assessments and action plans to address prevailing and emerging risks
  • Conduct regular presentations to key internal stakeholders.
  • Convene and facilitate risk identification and assessment workshops / sessions / discussions / meetings with internal stakeholders
  • Provide support, education and training to all levels of the business to continually drive a greater understanding and appreciation of risk, and the implications of failure to respond appropriately to threats as they emerge
  • Leverage internal and external assurance service providers and other functional/subject matter experts to continually drive for enhanced efficiency and value-add to internal stakeholders in all governance, risk and compliance policies and processes for optimal business performance and outcomes
  • Perform analysis of risk metrics for emerging risk trends and proactively work with internal stakeholders to address the risks
  • Develop and monitor key risk indicators to assess the effectiveness of controls and profile of risks
  • Develop and implement procedures for effective data governance / management
  • Continually develop data management strategies and benchmarking to industry best practices
  • Promote a positive culture and high level of awareness of data governance / management through training
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to improve and streamline data management processes within the company

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Business or Economics
  • Strong presentation skills and confidence to speak with Senior Management
  • Strong writing and analytical skills for reporting, analysis & recommendation
  • Outgoing/Extrovert to interact and engage people
